NOVEMBER GARDENING TASKS (North India)

1. Annuals- Nursery of winter flowers if not already done, can be transplanted in this month also. For making an herbaceous border in beds, plant dwarf seasonal in the front row, medium sized in the center and taller ones at the backside. Also plan and keep in mind.
2. Bulbs- Sowing of winter bulbs like Gladiolus, Narcissus, and Hyacinth can be continued in this month. Sow the bulbs in well-prepared beds or in pots. The bulbous plants should be watered judiciously.
3. Chrysanthemums: Chrysanthemums will start flowering by end of this month. Arrange the pots in rows or in groups keeping in mind the size of the plant and color of flowers.
4. Dahlias- Transplantation of rooted cuttings of Dahlia in well-prepared soil can be carried out in this month also. The soil should be kept moist but no water logging should be permitted. First feed should be given 15 days after the planting.
5. Roses- You can safely plant new rose plants in this month also. Regular watering and hoeing of already established plants may be carried out to keep the plants in good condition.
6. Vegetables – Beet, Ganth Gobhi,Zuchchini,Peas, Spinach, and Turnip seeds can be sowed this month. Brinjal/ Eggplant, Capsicum, Pepper and Tomato seedlings can be sow this month also.
7. Permanent Plants- Permanent plants will be in good condition this month. Regular watering is must to protect the plants from on setting cold months.
8. Lawns- The green luster of grass will start fading due to cold nights. Regular watering and occasional mowing should be done.
